Join the Adventure

Scouts is all about fun, friendship and everyday adventure. At BMHC Scout Group, we provide great opportunities for young people and adults from a wide range of backgrounds to learn new skills, grow in confidence and serve their community.

BMHC Scout Group is an extremely popular and successful group, meeting on Sunday mornings at the British Muslim Heritage Centre in Whalley Range. Our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections usually run at full capacity. To manage this fairly, entry to all sections is handled through a waiting list, which helps us keep an even spread of ages in each section and avoid sudden surges in numbers later on. Places are allocated in line with our Membership and Waiting List Policy.

Update: We currently have over 400 children waiting to join BMHC Scout Group. As a result, waiting times are typically between 18 and 24 months before we are able to offer a space. Most new places become available in our youngest section, Squirrels (starting from age 4), usually when older children move up or leave. Places in older sections only arise when an existing member leaves or progresses to the next section.

Joining BMHC Scouts Group is the start of an incredible journey filled with fun, learning and friendship. You’ll gain new skills, confidence and a sense of belonging — while discovering the world around you.
